Gala for Iran tradtional theater fest held with dance performance

Gala for 2017 Ritual and Traditional Theater Festival in Iran has been held in Iranian capital city of Tehran with traditional dance performance.

The event was organized on Sunday with some of Iran screen artists as well as the event’s administrators in attendance.  

A performance of traditional Azari dance directed by Dawoud Haji Babaei was an appealing highlight of the ceremony.

Ritual and Traditional Theater Festival is aimed at promoting studies on roots of Iranian theater and traditional theater of other nations among others. The festival is supported by Center for Ritual & Traditional Theater, Iran Dramatic Arts Association and Dramatic Arts Center.  

The festival holds ritual performances and traditional theater plays belonging to different parts of the country.

This year’s edition of the festival will include sections such as:

- Traditional puppetry

- Dramatic story-telling and national narratives

- Ritual theater     

-Traditional public shows, rituals and roleplays.

- Iranian youth theater

- International traditional theater

The 18th edition of event will portray Iran traditional and ritual theater works till September 6.
